
Born in 1973, Demirkol graduated first in his class from Bilkent University’s Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in 1995. He completed his master's and PhD at Stanford University. Between 1996 and 1997, he worked as an Application Engineer at Oracle-Redwood, and from 1997 to 1999, he served as a Research Assistant at Stanford University. From 1999 to 2003, he was a Senior Consultant at McKinsey & Company’s Atlanta and Turkey offices. Between 2004 and 2005, he worked as the Group Head of Business Development and Strategy at Finansbank A.Ş., and in 2005, he became Deputy General Manager responsible for IT and Card Operations at Finansbank A.Ş. Russia. From 2005 to 2007, he served as the Director of Business Development and Marketing at Memorial Healthcare Group. In 2007, he joined Vakıfbank as Head of the Information Technology Department and was appointed as Deputy General Manager responsible for IT later that year. In 2008, he also took on responsibilities for Operations and ADK. Since August 2010, Demirkol has been working at Finansbank A.Ş. as Deputy General Manager responsible for Information Technology, Operations, Channels, and Business Development.
